Job Description

The IT Infrastructure Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting local area networks (LANs), evaluating and installing computer hardware and software, providing problem-solving services to network users, implementing data, software, and hardware security procedures, performing data backups and disaster recovery operations, setting up local area networks and connections to the Internet, implementing network traffic and security monitoring software, modifying Web pages and applets, and researching and applying meta-data to Websites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and troubleshoot LANs to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware and software to meet business needs.
  • Provide problem-solving services to network users in a timely and effective manner.
  • Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures to protect company assets.
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations to ensure business continuity.
  • Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet to support business operations.
  • Implement network traffic and security monitoring software to identify potential issues.
  • Modify Web pages and applets to improve user experience.
  • Research and apply meta-data to Websites to improve search engine optimization.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • College or CEGEP diploma from a 1-2 year program in a related field such as Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • 1-2 years of experience in IT infrastructure management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies.
  • Experience with data security and backup procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
