About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented ESG Ratings Analyst to join our North America ESG Ratings team in New York or Toronto.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze issuers and their bonds to propose ESG Ratings and prepare ESG assessment reports.
  • Deliver timely and focused written analysis, supported by well-constructed arguments backed by verified factual data.
  • Stay up-to-date with ESG trends globally, both regulatory and sector-specific.
  • Apply Sustainable Fitch's ESG analytical methodologies and become familiar with the company's approach to assessing the sustainability impact associated with a broad range of business activities.
  • Interact with colleagues globally to leverage knowledge, gain international experience, and establish good working relationships.
Requirements
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Broad interest in business, finance, and economics.
  • Degree in a discipline with a technical background related to environmental science, social risk, or governance-themed disciplines, or economics/business/finance.
  • Knowledge and interest in ESG concepts and topics.
  • Basic financial literacy and a sound analytical mind capable of working with and drawing conclusions from data.
  • Strong team player with excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to show initiative and manage and prioritize time effectively.
