We are seeking physicians who thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments. As a Critical Care Specialist, you will be part of the Medical Emergency team (MET) providing medical care to inpatients in critical conditions. Our hospital offers teaching and training opportunities for individuals who want to refine their critical care clinical and procedural skills.We are a well-supported program with stable and supportive colleagues, offering a well-rewarded practice. You will work closely with the Department of Critical Care, acting as Code Team Leader and Most Responsible Physician (MRP) in Code Blue scenarios, for admitted inpatients and other Code Blue calls outside of the SMH Emergency Department.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing timely response to all inpatient medical emergencies and immediate assessment and treatment to critically ill or injured inpatients.
- Assisting other MRPs with acute inpatient stroke, and after-hours contrast reactions response.
- Performing advanced critical care procedures, including airway management, central catheter placement, drainage catheter insertions, and hemodynamic monitoring.
You will be supported by the Intensivist on call while on shift. Additionally, you will provide clinical support for the Intensive Care Unit under their supervision.
As a Critical Care Specialist, you will have the opportunity to participate in teaching and training programs to educate medical staff, residents, and fellows. You will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement evidence-based protocols and best practices for emergency and critical care.
Estimated annual salary: $350,000 - $450,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
