Key Responsibilities:

  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain optimal inventory levels
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
  • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation, minimizing waste and excess
  • Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage
  • Prepare and submit reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement
  • Establish work schedules and ensure that kitchen staff are adequately trained and equipped to perform their duties

Support for Newcomers and Refugees:

  • Assist with immediate settlement needs, including housing, transportation, and storage
  • Support social and labour market integration, facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training

Support for Indigenous People:

  • Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities to Indigenous workers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, businesses, and organizations
  • Provide cultural competency training and awareness to all employees, creating a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports

Work Environment:

  • Restaurant setting
  • 30 to 40 hours per week
