About the Role

The Foothills School Division is seeking an experienced and skilled professional to fill the position of Interim Director of Financial Services. This is a temporary, full-time opportunity that will provide support to the Financial Services department in leading the division's financial and accounting systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Assistant Superintendent of Corporate Services/Secretary-Treasurer in financial and system leadership
  • Plan, develop, report, and monitor the overall budget
  • Ensure the division's accounting systems operate within professionally acceptable standards
  • Liaise with external auditors and Alberta Education on financial matters
  • Provide timely and accurate data and analysis to schools, departments, and the Executive Team
  • Lead the Financial Services Department in quality financial and accounting practices
  • Establish team goals, provide performance measures, and motivate and mentor staff
Requirements

This position requires an accounting designation (CPA) and at least five years of directly related financial and auditing experience in a public or large financial organization. Experience working in the education sector is preferred.
