About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team at Home Instead. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients, enabling them to live independently in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
  • Assist in regular exercise, e.g., walking
  • Feed or assist in feeding
  • Provide companionship
  • Provide personal care
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees
  • Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees
  • Support social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees
  • Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster
  • Support newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition
  • Offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees
  • Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience
