Job Title: Cloud FinOps Lead - Cost Optimization and Governance

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud FinOps Lead to join our team at Quantum Technology Recruiting Inc. (QTR). This is a challenging role that requires a deep understanding of cloud economics, Azure cost management, and financial principles.

About the Role:

In this position, you will be responsible for establishing and managing our FinOps function, ensuring the efficient and effective use of our cloud resources. You will collaborate with both the finance and engineering teams to optimize cloud spending, create financial transparency, and develop cost-saving strategies.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Build and lead the FinOps practice from the ground up, developing the FinOps framework, processes, and best practices to manage and optimize cloud costs.
  • Establish cost monitoring, reporting, and optimization strategies within our Azure environment.
  • Perform detailed cost analyses and provide insights to leadership on cost drivers, financial trends, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, finance, and product teams to ensure cloud resources are used efficiently and align with business goals.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud financial management, FinOps, or cloud cost optimization roles, preferably within the payments, fintech, or financial services industry.
  • Strong financial background with a deep understanding of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and cost allocation.
  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud platform, specifically with Azure cost management and billing tools.
  • FinOps Certification or equivalent knowledge of FinOps principles, cloud cost governance, and optimization strategies.
Salary:

$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
