Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Primary Care team at Northern Health Authority. As an integral member of our interprofessional team, you will provide comprehensive care to individuals and their families in various settings, including physician practices, homes, facilities, and communities.

Northern Health Authority covers a vast area of nearly 600,000 square kilometers, offering health services in over two dozen communities and 55 First Nation's communities. With a population of 300,000, we deliver hospital and community-based healthcare through the efforts of dedicated staff and physicians, in partnership with communities and organizations in Northern BC.

Responsibilities
- Provide person-centered care, maintaining sensitivity to diverse cultures and preferences, social justice concerns, and the need for advocacy.
- Work collaboratively with interprofessional teams to develop and implement individualized plans of care, utilizing evidence-informed practice to achieve effective outcomes.
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments, utilizing appropriate therapeutic interventions and teaching both one-on-one and in groups.
- Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals, resolving interpersonal differences and conflicts when necessary.
- Promote staff morale, engagement, and empowerment, demonstrating creative planning for change and innovation, implementation of policies or protocols, and ongoing professional development.

Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized Occupational Therapy program
- Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia
- Demonstrated computer skills, including Meditech and Windows-based programs, data analysis tools, and e-mail/word processing abilities
