About the Job

We're seeking a seasoned Product Manager to join our Disruption team at Hopper, a well-funded and proven startup with large ambitions. As a key member of our team, you will work at the intersection of business, software development, data science, and user experience to create innovative products and intuitive user experiences that reduce the stress of traveling.

As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for managing a product roadmap across several business objectives, ensuring that we are executing against the highest impact items at any given time. You will work closely with external partners on new and existing implementations, earning and maintaining trust by building good relationships. You will also rapidly test sound hypotheses through new merchandising experiments at different points in the customer journey to increase revenue.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a product roadmap across several business objectives
  • Work closely with external partners on new and existing implementations
  • Rapidly test sound hypotheses through new merchandising experiments
  • Talk to customers frequently to gather qualitative data and quantify it to deeply understand their problems
  • Conduct market research to understand traveler needs in different regions of the world
  • Use data to identify user behavior and purchase patterns, which directly lead to hypotheses around opportunities that can be measurably validated/invalidated through simple experiments
  • Build new products, end to end: from idea to research to design to development to customer service to optimization
  • Work with customer service to understand and identify customer problem trends
  • Work with back-end and front-end engineers, designers, legal, and many other stakeholders to launch innovative features quickly and bug-free
Requirements
  • Thrived in a consumer product role and delivered delightful features at scale
  • Strong experience, knowledge of, and/or keen interest in Fintech, Insurtech, or risk-based products
  • An innovative and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • B2B and B2C experience
  • Ability to navigate both the forest and the trees
  • Exceptional ability to grasp, manage, and articulate complex systems
  • Experience connecting innovative solutions to real-world, user problems with actual business needs of a rapidly scaling organization
  • Technical depth that allows you to communicate with, understand, and earn the respect of world-class engineers and data scientists
  • A track record of being proactive and persuading colleagues by constructing a compelling narrative both in-person and in-writing
  • Past success analyzing data, drawing accurate conclusions, and adjusting strategy accordingly

The yearly total compensation for this senior position ranges from $150,000 to $320,000 CAD. Compensation will be determined by candidates' relevant qualifications, knowledge, skills and work experience. Total compensation will include a solid base salary and will also include equity (options / RSUs), sign-on bonus and other potential incentives.
