Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Personal Financial Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of accounting for investments and partnerships, as well as sound knowledge of corporate, personal income, trust, and partnership taxes. They will provide guidance and leadership to reports, ensuring deadlines are met and work is reviewed accordingly.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Monitor the financial information of families receiving personal CFO services from the division.
  • Serve as the primary contact person for families regarding accounting and fiscal matters.
  • Work collaboratively with various departments to identify opportunities and provide recommendations to families based on their needs.
  • Coordinate financial activities with family advisors such as bankers, accountants, and lawyers.
  • Navigate and understand complex structures involving investment companies, trust companies, partnerships, and multiple generations.
  • Conduct mandates with professional standards using sound methodologies and techniques.
  • Coordinate, supervise, and provide training to staff in the preparation of financial information and tax returns.
  • Efficiently review compilation engagements as well as corporate, personal, and trust returns.
  • Coordinate and manage various compliance requirements and deadlines.
  • Provide financial projections, tax estimates, and a complete analysis of the client's pro forma information (understand the implications of transactions and their tax impact).
  • Gain an understanding of investments, including accounting, fiscal, and legal implications.
  • Offer advice on optimizing cash flow and overall structure.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Experience in a Family Office is an asset.
  • Perfect French; English is an asset.
  • Good knowledge in taxation.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detailed oriented, conscientious, and resourceful.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of CaseWare, TJPS (Lotus Notes), and Taxprep, an asset.
