About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Mental Health Specialist to join our team in the Eastern Zone. This is a permanent full-time position working 75 hours bi-weekly.

In this role, you will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, providing comprehensive services to adults with mental health disorders who fit within the established target population. Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, and provision of professional clinical services for patients/clients living with complex mental health disorders and/or concurrent disorder(s).

This position requires strong client focus and ability to build solid client/practitioner relationships. You must be able to link to community resources, demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, and promote a culture that supports safety, ethical practices, and organizational health.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Masters of Social Work with a specialization in a clinical or mental health stream
  • Registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Work
  • Two years' of clinical experience in an inpatient/outpatient mental health setting, providing independent assessment and treatment of adult mental health disorders
  • Competence in assessment, intervention (individual, family, and group) and research
  • Specialized knowledge of acute and persistent mental illness and concurrent disorders
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $37.31-$49.05 per hour, as well as a benefits package including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage. You may also be eligible for our defined benefit pension plan.
