About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Al & Jan's Fish and Chips. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and service of our menu items, ensuring that our high standards of quality and customer satisfaction are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of our food preparation and service staff to ensure efficient and effective operations.
    • Train and develop staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Menu Planning and Preparation
    • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation and ensure that our menu items are consistently prepared to our high standards.
    • Work with our chef to prepare food order summaries and ensure that our menu items are accurately represented.
  • Customer Service
    • Ensure that our customers receive exceptional service and that their complaints or concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Prepare and submit reports on sales, stock, and wastage to inform our business decisions.
    • Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, and sales to ensure that our business is operating efficiently.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service supervisory role.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment
    • 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Language
    • English is the primary language of communication in this role.
