We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Physician to join our team at Prairie Mountain Health.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting medical examinations, and developing treatment plans to promote health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and analyze medical information from patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals
  • Conduct thorough medical examinations to identify diseases and injuries
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to promote health and well-being
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures as needed
  • Consult with other medical professionals to evaluate patients' physical and mental health
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments as necessary
  • Participate in institutional committees and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
  • Perform and assist in routine surgery as required
  • Inoculate and vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases
  • Advise patients on health care and provide education on healthy habits and lifestyle choices
  • Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other health-related information to government authorities
  • Act as a patient advocate and coordinate primary patient care
  • Provide acute care management and emergency care as needed
  • Offer counseling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues
Requirements:
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II)
  • Criminal record check
  • Child Abuse Registry check
  • Eligible for professional liability insurance
  • Immunization records
  • Adult Abuse Registry check
  • Vulnerable sector check
