Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting large-scale genomic data, developing and implementing new algorithms and tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance our research and development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Genomic Data Analysis: Provide hands-on analysis and interpretation of large-scale genomic data, including next-generation sequencing technologies.
  • Algorithm Development: Develop and implement new algorithms and tools for analyzing genomic data, including variant calling and cancer early detection.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with molecular biologists, bioinformaticians, and other cross-functional teams to advance our research and development efforts.
  • Communication: Present and communicate team activities and project results across multiple functions in the organization.

Requirements:

  • Documented Experience: Documented experience with sequencing/genomic data analysis (NGS), especially in the area of high-throughput sequence analysis.
  • Proficient in Bioinformatics Tools: Proficient in general bioinformatics tools, including tools for sequence alignment, variant analysis, and database queries.
  • Programming Skills: Proficient in Python and R programming languages.
  • Linux Environment: Proficient working in a Linux HPC environment.
  • Workflow Management: Hands-on experience in workflow management systems (e.g. Nextflow, Snakemake).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, advanced English reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Statistical Background: Strong statistical background.
  • Version Control: Experience with version control and familiarity with issue tracking systems (i.e. JIRA).
  • Database Languages: Familiarity with database languages such as SQL.
  • Container-Based Virtualization: Experience with container-based virtualization (i.e. Docker).
  • R Shiny App Development: Familiarity with R Shiny App development.
