Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Financial Governance and Control Specialist to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada. This is an exciting opportunity for a financial professional to lead the development and implementation of effective governance and controls over financial results.

About the Role:
As a Lead Financial Governance and Control Specialist, you will be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders from various functional areas to develop and sustain efficient governance and controls. You will also perform control and governance over the financial position and performance of each business area, including review of financial and regulatory submissions, GL attestations, and oversight of SOX and other control processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of effective governance and controls over financial results
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from various functional areas to identify and address potential risks and issues
  • Perform control and governance over the financial position and performance of each business area
  • Review financial and regulatory submissions, GL attestations, and oversee SOX and other control processes


Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of financial reporting under IFRS accounting standards and internal controls over financial reporting
  • Curiosity to explore better ways of working while maintaining a strong governance mindset
  • Excellent analytical thinking and acute attention to detail
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage numerous priorities simultaneously amidst tight deadlines
