Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Rockport Carrier Co. Inc. as a Logistics Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the country, ensuring timely delivery and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation Management
    • Plan and optimize routes to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
    • Arrange travel itineraries and make reservations for cargo transportation
  • Customer Service
    • Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner
  • Vehicle Maintenance
    • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and condition
    • Oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance, including tire, brake, and cold storage checks
  • Logistics Coordination
    • Coordinate with dispatch and other teams to ensure smooth transportation operations
    • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Obtain special permits and documents required for international cargo transportation
    • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in transportation or logistics
  • Certifications
    • Air Brakes Endorsement
    • Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks)
    • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
    • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate
    • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
