Sofa Studio is seeking a skilled Wood Frame Carpenter Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. You will also prepare tenders and quotations, schedule and co-ordinate work on sites, instruct apprentices and estimate costs and materials.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • You will work in a combination of sitting, standing and walking environments, and may be required to bend, crouch or kneel. You will also be required to work overtime and the job is physically demanding.
  • You will be required to wear safety equipment, including steel-toed safety boots and safety glasses/goggles.
Personal Suitability
  • Reliability, team player, values and ethics, and punctuality are essential qualities for this role.
Experience
  • This is a permanent position requiring 30 to 35 hours of work per week, with a minimum of 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • The language of work is English.
