About the Role

As a seasoned Real Estate Law Clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting the success of our client, a respected law firm in downtown Ottawa. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and potential hybrid work arrangements based on performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage commercial purchase, sale, refinance, and financing files with precision and attention to detail.
  • Oversee closing activities for transactions, ensuring seamless execution and timely completion.
  • Conduct title searches, draft requisitions, and prepare and register deeds and charges/discharges with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare transactional documents for private and institutional lenders, meeting strict deadlines and quality standards.
  • Order and issue title insurance policies, maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • File, diarize deadlines, and coordinate with clients to ensure smooth project management.
  • Prepare accounting documents, including client accounts and other financial reports, with precision and attention to detail.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of real estate law clerk experience, with a strong understanding of commercial law and procedures.
  • Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
  • Expertise in legal procedures and statutes, with experience in commercial purchase, sale transactions, and builder transactions/development work.
  • Proficient with title insurance software, MS Office, TeraView, Unity, RealtiWeb, and Soluno.
  • Strong proofreading, formatting, time management, and organizational skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
