Aquatics Director

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Aquatics & Family Programs Director assumes responsibility for the daily operation of the pool, including giving leadership to program excellence, ensuring health and safety protocols are followed, and that staff meet YMCA regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, promote, and implement aquatics programs offered by the HFR facility.
- Develop and monitor departmental budget and maintain accountability for fiscal goals.
- Conduct internal audits and ensure staff compliance with qualifications, trainings, safety procedures, and operational protocols.
- Provide leadership to children and youth programs, establish rapport with staff and members, and represent the YMCA in a professional manner.
- Understand and integrate the value of philanthropy and volunteerism, and impart this knowledge to staff, volunteers, and members.
- Diploma or degree in Recreation Leadership, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field.
- WHMIS training and Pool Operator's certification preferred.
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with ability to speak multiple languages an asset.
- Excellent time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills, with computer skills and willingness to learn new programs.
- Experience and sensitivity in dealing with diverse stakeholders, including visible and invisible dimensions of diversity.
