Aquatics Director Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aquatics Director to lead our aquatic programs and services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the daily operation of our pool, including leadership, staff supervision, and ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement aquatic programs, including swim lessons, aquafit classes, and water safety initiatives.
  • Supervise and train aquatic staff, including lifeguards, swim instructors, and aquafit leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including WHMIS training and pool safety audits.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff on YMCA policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of programs and services.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Recreation Leadership, Kinesiology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in aquatic leadership, including lifeguarding, swim instruction, and aquafit leadership.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on customer service and member satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of YMCA policies, procedures, and best practices.
