About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking three full-time Geriatricians to lead the way in frailty care. As a Zone Leader, you will be part of a collaborative team-based environment that includes nursing services and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide frailty-informed, ambitious, and optimistic urgent care in the first 72 hours of a patient's illness.
  • Work in a collaborative frailty team in the emergency department and acute care with nurse practitioners, OTs, pharmacists, physios, and social workers.
  • Focus on at-risk, under-served populations, notably including older adults who live with frailty, and anyone who is indigenous, and those who live with addictions.
  • Be part of Nova Scotia Health's Division of Geriatric Medicine and adjunct appointment and research opportunities with Dalhousie University's Division of Geriatric Medicine.

Expected Hours:

  • Full-time

Qualifications:

  • All family physicians must have membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
  • All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  • All specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
