About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Geriatrician to join our team as a Zone Leader in frailty care. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative, team-based environment that includes nursing services and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a frailty team in the emergency department and acute care with nurse practitioners, OTs, pharmacists, physios, and social workers
  • Provide frailty-informed, ambitious, and optimistic urgent care in the first 72 hours of a patient's illness
  • Be part of Nova Scotia Health's Division of Geriatric Medicine and adjunct appointment and research opportunities with Dalhousie University's Division of Geriatric Medicine
  • Focus on at-risk, under-served populations, notably including older adults who live with frailty, and anyone who is indigenous, and those who live with addictions

Expected Hours:

  • Full-time

Qualifications:

  • Membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
