Job Summary:
The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Coordinator to join our team in Fort Simpson. As a key member of our medical travel program, you will be responsible for interpreting medical travel benefit entitlements for patients and escorts, communicating with clients and stakeholders, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret medical travel benefit entitlements for patients and escorts
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders to explain benefits and provide guidance
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and service providers to ensure seamless patient care
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the NWT Health and Social Services system, Canada Health Act, and NWT geography and cultures
- Stay up-to-date with transportation industry developments, particularly in northern air travel
Requirements:
- Grade 12 graduation and 2-3 years of related work experience in healthcare or travel industry
- Knowledge of medical terminology and air transportation terminology
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
- Proficiency with current computer programs within the GNWT medical travel department
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary range: $38.05 - $45.44 per hour
- Annual Northern Allowance: $12,839
