About the Role:

The Director - Community Development will lead the Community Affairs Branch, which supports local governments to build vibrant, healthy communities that are well-governed and financially sustainable. The role involves maintaining strong relationships between the Government of Yukon, municipalities, the Association of Yukon Communities, local advisory councils, and unincorporated communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead integrated solutions to local challenges
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives or projects that align with Government of Yukon priorities
  • Provide advice on financial, governance, and strategic matters affecting Yukon communities
  • Collaborate with First Nation governments to develop integrated solutions to local services
Requirements:
  • Degree in Business Administration, Community Development, or related field
  • Considerable experience managing complex programs with varying and broad mandates
  • Demonstrated experience providing direction and strategic leadership to varying programs
  • Significant experience leading, managing and developing staff including performance and talent management
