Dexter Construction Company Limited is seeking an experienced Concrete Foreman to join our operations based out of Bedford, Nova Scotia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete construction and excellent leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise all concrete activities at the work site, ensuring efficient use of labor, machines, and materials by their crews
- Implement effective use of personnel, materials, equipment, facilities, and time
- Identify training gaps and provide training to team members before tasks are delegated
- Monitor equipment maintenance requirements and ensure operators perform daily checks
- Assist in resolving change requests, material defects, and equipment problems
- Manage project labor administration activities, including payroll, timekeeping, labor coding, equipment coding, safety reporting, and quantities for costing and billing requirements
Requirements:
- 5 years' experience working with concrete or equivalent construction experience
- High attention to detail in completing work tasks
- Strong management, delegation, planning, and leadership skills
- Ability to read plans and understand basic contractual requirements
- High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning
- Compliance with all safety policies and procedures
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
