Job Summary

Yume Sushi is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Food Service Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all food and service meet the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Requisitioning and Inventory Management: Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring efficient and safe food handling practices.
  • Menu Planning and Cost Control: Collaborate with the culinary team to plan menus, estimate ingredient and supply requirements, and prepare budget and cost estimates.
  • Quality Control and Customer Service: Ensure that all food and service meet quality control standards and address customer complaints or concerns in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, and prepare and submit reports as required.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role, or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Work Environment: Noisy, with odours, hot temperatures, and fast-paced environment
  • Work Setting: Restaurant with a dynamic and team-oriented atmosphere
Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Combination of Sitting, Standing, Walking: Standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

  • Interpersonal Skills: Efficient interpersonal skills and excellent oral communication skills
