Role Overview

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer at Shakepay, you will play a crucial role in empowering our Development Teams to deliver exceptional software solutions efficiently. Your primary focus will be on implementing rigorous quality assurance practices and automating testing processes throughout the organization. This includes defining and deploying testing tools and frameworks, as well as establishing comprehensive quality standards that align with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Quality Assurance: Develop and communicate the vision and strategy for testing and developer support within the team.
  • Quality Advocacy: Promote best practices in code quality, testing, and maintainability, ensuring their integration across the engineering teams. Establish quality standards and templates for GitHub pull requests and ensure thorough definitions of done in project management tools.
  • Collaborative Development: Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to ensure our tools and frameworks evolve to meet the needs of our engineers.
  • Framework and Tool Development: Design and implement automated testing frameworks and tools from the ground up.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, regularly refining our quality assurance approach.
  • Hands-on Testing: Engage directly with the codebase, demonstrating best practices in testing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Over 5 years of experience in software development and testing, with a strong emphasis on integrating test automation frameworks and tools such as Playwright or Cypress.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or TypeScript.
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure), and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Thorough understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GitHub for version control and utilizing GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
  • Familiarity with Maestro for test automation and mobile testing.
  • Background in a startup or fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of effective test case design and development.
  • Passion for financial technology and innovation.
