Job Title: Cabinetmaker

We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team at MAV Services Inc. The ideal candidate will have experience in woodworking, cabinetmaking, and furniture making.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
  • Prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage.
  • Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
  • Instruct apprentices.
  • Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made.
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems.
  • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units and reinforce joints.
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics.
  • Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products.
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in cabinetmaking, woodworking, or a related field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Ability to lift more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • Steel-toed safety boots.
