Safety Attendant

Job Summary
Total Safety is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Attendant to join our team. As a Safety Attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for our employees and clients. This includes conducting hazard identification, control measures, and documentation daily, as well as reviewing and being knowledgeable of all associated TSS Policy, Procedure, Standards, and expectations set forth for the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily hazard identification, control measures, and documentation
- Review and be knowledgeable of all associated TSS Policy, Procedure, Standards, and expectations
- Ensure a safe working environment for employees and clients
- Conduct training and mentoring of employees
- Assist in incident investigations and report observations, near misses, and incidents
- Activate stop work authority when conditions are of serious and life-threatening
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience within Oil & Gas facilities, manufacturing industry, and construction projects
- Valid Gov't issued ID and Class 5 driver's license
- H2S Alive - Energy Safety Canada, Standard First Aid Level C, CSO, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry and Monitor, and Fire Watch certifications
Working Conditions
The Safety Attendant will work in various industrial environments, including manufacturing, shop, and remote locations. The employee will be exposed to wet, humid, outside weather conditions, noise, vibration, and congested work areas. The employee may be exposed to high pressure, chemicals, gas releases, or fire, and must be able to work safely and effectively in these conditions.
Reporting Relationships
The Safety Attendant will work under close supervision and will be responsible for reporting to a supervisor or more experienced Attendant or Technician. The employee will be expected to communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and clients, and to work collaboratively as part of a team.
