Job Summary:

The Fit and Spec Technician is a key member of the Joseph Ribkoff team, responsible for ensuring the consistency of garment fit, specification, quality, and construction. This role requires strong collaboration with designers and suppliers to develop fit and specifications for each garment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the consistency of garment fit, specification, quality, and construction
  • Communicate effectively with overseas agents/vendors regarding standards, specifications, quality requirements, and important issues
  • Receive and inspect samples from overseas agents/vendors
  • Measure, take sample dimensions, and verify workmanship of garments
  • Analyze garment fit on models and take organized notes during fitting sessions
  • Create grading charts and send fit comments with technical drawings (if necessary) to agents/vendors
  • Maintain accurate records of samples and paperwork, comparing first samples, production samples, and technical pack specifications

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Diploma in fashion/design
  • Knowledge of denim, sweater knits, and coats (an asset)
  • Bilingual: French and English
  • Strong understanding of womenswear garment design and production
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong Illustrator and Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment
  • Pattern making experience (a must)
