Job Title: Item Master / Component Technician

Octasic is seeking a highly skilled Item Master/Component Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Operations and Engineering teams, you will be responsible for ensuring that all consumables, materials, equipment, and services are identified and coded consistently and according to the technical engineering definition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the master file, establish product configurations, and ensure data integrity and accuracy in the ERP system.
  • Create new items for products: spare parts, consumables, material, equipment, services in the ERP system.
  • Establish and update product information in the ERP system, piloting the process with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to define and maintain accurate BOMs within the ERP system.
  • Work with IT teams and ERP system administrators to identify, test, and implement system enhancements, automation, and process improvements related to item configuration.
  • Assist in migrating or transferring data to new systems as needed.
  • In collaboration with the hardware engineer department, the Item Master will manage obsolescence or unavailability of electronic components on all electronic products.
  • Participate in Parts list reviews.
  • Participate in the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process.
  • Follow up of PCN (Product Change Notice, Alerts, Counterfeited components, DMSMS) received from distribution and Silicon Expert.
  • Support PLM team in the preparation of obsolescence reports for management and customers.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and engineering team to define and maintain the AVL.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as information systems or operation.
  • Experience in component engineering (electrical, electronic, electromechanical) is an asset.
  • Good experience with an ERP.
  • Knowledge of Excel (intermediate to expert level).
  • Knowledge of product nomenclatures.
  • Knowledge of component control document drawing types (Spec control, Source control, Altered Item, Selected item) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations (RoHS, REACH) is an asset.
  • Autonomy and adaptability.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Bilingual (French & English): both spoken and written in order to ensure good collaboration with our suppliers and our international teams.
