Operating Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Operating Engineer to join our team at Roseburg Forest Products. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our steam systems, including natural gas boilers, high-pressure steam systems, and associated equipment.
This is a challenging role that requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of maintaining and operating complex mechanical systems, with a focus on safety, reliability, and efficiency.
The salary for this position is estimated to be around $90,000 per year, based on industry standards and the level of experience required.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Maintaining and repairing steam system equipment, including valves, pumps, and control systems
- Conducting regular inspections and testing to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the steam system
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues with the steam system, including leaks, blockages, and other problems
- Collaborating with other members of the operations team to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the plant
- Staying up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to steam system operation and maintenance
In addition to the above responsibilities, the successful candidate will also be expected to maintain accurate records of their work, including maintenance logs and troubleshooting reports.
