About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Banque Nationale du Canada. As a key member of our Commercial and Private Banking group, you will provide expert legal advice and guidance on complex commercial financing transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal counsel on commercial financing transactions, including credit agreements, security documents, and other bank forms.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal partners and external legal counsel to negotiate and draft legal documents.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in commercial law, corporate finance, and securities to provide informed advice to the business.
  • Collaborate with the team to implement new products, special projects, and develop policies, standards, practices, and processes in commercial and corporate financing.
  • Analyze and mitigate risks associated with the Bank's products and activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Law or Master of Law degree.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in commercial financing.
  • Member of the Law Society of Ontario (or equivalent in other provinces).
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and writing skills.
  • Leadership skills and ability to work on a team.
