Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Rockport Carrier Co. Inc. as a Route Optimization Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and adjusting routes to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions, while ensuring timely delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Route Planning and Optimization: Use computer equipment, GPS, and other navigation devices to plan and adjust routes to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Customer Service: Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Logistics Coordination: Arrange travel, itineraries, and make reservations as needed.
  • Vehicle Operation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Documentation: Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes, and record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Air Brakes Endorsement, Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in transportation or a related field.
  • Travel: Willing to travel cross-border, internationally, and for extended periods.
