Job Summary:

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Professional to join our Environmental group at Carlin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with air quality permits and programs, as well as overseeing maintenance of existing air compliance systems and developing new systems as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Title V Air Permit, Mercury Operating Permit, Federal MACT, and GHG reporting regulations
  • Oversee maintenance of existing air compliance systems and develop new systems as needed
  • Communicate with regulatory agency personnel, site managers, corporate resources, legal counsel, and other stakeholders
  • Oversee inspections of mine operations to ensure permit compliance and accompany regulatory inspectors on periodic inspections
  • Lead, manage, and develop Environmental Engineers, Coordinators, and Technicians
  • Manage business partners to complete permit applications and work with agency personnel to obtain approval of permit modifications
  • Manage the stack testing program from schedule coordination to review and submittal of reports
  • Prepare semi-annual and annual compliance reports
  • Act as a customer service representative to ensure Operations personnel understand air permit obligations and guide in air permitting decisions
  • Assist with training of NGM employees, contractors, and others
  • Respond to environmental incidents as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Five to ten years of direct experience in environmental compliance, including regulatory agency interactions
  • Three or more years in a mining environment
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Title V air permitting regulations
  • Experience with NESHAPs for Gold Mine Ore Processing and Production Area Source Category (7E) and the Nevada Mercury Control Program
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • In-depth experience with Excel
  • Experience with database programs
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to perform essential responsibilities
