At Douglas College, we are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as International Student Leaders and Community Ambassadors. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of international students and contribute to the college community.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting prospective, new international students and exchange students in their transition to life at Douglas College and in Canada. As a Student Leader and Community Ambassador, you will work closely with our Global Engagement team to support incoming exchange students and other internationalization initiatives.

This role requires strong leadership skills, a positive attitude, and a keen interest in working in an international setting. You will have the ability to handle sensitive information, maintain confidentiality, and set boundaries. Experience with social media platforms, graphic design programs, and video conferencing services is an asset.

You will be responsible for scheduling and facilitating meetings, workshops, and social opportunities, as well as assisting with the creation of promotional materials and content for various social media channels. You will also provide reports at the midpoint of the semester and at the conclusion of the program.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled in full-time studies at Douglas College throughout the academic year;
  • Be an international student at another accredited public post-secondary institution in B.C., with a valid Study Permit that allows off-campus employment.

A Social Insurance Number (SIN) and a valid Study Permit are required by law before commencing work at Douglas College.
