Thorek/Scott and Partners is a renowned Canadian asset management firm with a global presence, investing in diverse asset classes. We are seeking an experienced Director of Investor Relations to join our team and drive strategic initiatives within our publicly traded private equity vehicle.

Job Description

Reporting to the Managing Director of Private Equity, the selected candidate will be responsible for executing investor relations-focused initiatives and interacting with senior leadership, investment professionals, and portfolio managers to drive strategy and provide oversight to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage equity analyst relationships, including initiation and ongoing coverage
• Formulate and execute strategic planning to develop key investor relationships
• Actively engage in formulating key messaging and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Proactively manage investor relationships to raise awareness and understanding of the business
• Understand and assess investor sentiment and implement programs to take advantage of market momentum and address issues
• Report on activities to senior management and the board

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess at least 8 years of experience in a relevant position, including equity research, portfolio management, corporate development, or investor relations, and have deep knowledge of equity valuation from a public capital markets perspective. A Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance and preferred certifications such as CPA, MBA, and/or CFA are also required. Additionally, candidates should have a clear history of working with public company and/or public markets investors, be proactive self-starters who can handle pressure effectively, and have experience working with senior management teams. Legal eligibility to work in Canada is a prerequisite for this role.

Compensation Package

This role offers a competitive salary range of $150,000 to $200,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and other attractive perks.
