The Opportunity

Permanent Part Time – 0.6 FTE – 46.5 Hours Biweekly

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.

As a member of the Rehabilitation team, the Physical Therapist will provide leadership, coordination and direction in physical therapy interventions for long term care residents. Reporting to the Program Manager, Rehabilitation, the successful candidate will lead the site's therapy team and ensure departmental compliance with continuing care health service standards, accommodation standards, employment and safety-related legislation, codes, and regulation, and SCF policies and procedures.

The Physical Therapist will implement programming to promote and maintain the level of functioning, strength, and mobility for health and wellness of the residents served. In their practice, the Physical Therapist is committed to continuous quality improvement.

Qualified candidates have a current practice permit with College of Physical Therapists of Alberta (CPTA) and Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) and can read, write, and speak English fluently. A minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Physical Therapist is preferred, however new graduates are welcome to apply.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and can work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team to advocate and promote well-being for residents. Time management skills are essential as is flexibility to accommodate resident needs.
