Job Summary:

This graduate course focuses on providing students with a solid foundation in statistics to handle large health data sets using advanced statistical tests and machine learning techniques. The course emphasizes creative approaches to analyzing data and critical thinking, as well as hands-on experience with web scraping, unstructured data, data cleaning, and data governance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a graduate course in biotechnology, selecting and inviting guest speakers, coordinating student projects, holding office hours, marking and evaluating student work, and communicating effectively with students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach a graduate course in biotechnology, emphasizing the application of statistical methods and machine learning techniques
  • Select and invite guest speakers to share their expertise and experiences
  • Coordinate student projects, providing guidance and support throughout the process
  • Hold regular office hours to address student queries and concerns
  • Mark and evaluate student work, providing constructive feedback for improvement
  • Communicate effectively with students, ensuring they understand course expectations and requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must possess a PhD in statistical methods or mathematics, have advanced coding experience with R, and demonstrate published research analyzing clinical trial data. Experience working in a hospital environment is an asset.
