About the Role:
Alberta Health Services is seeking a dynamic and self-directed Physiotherapist I to join our team in a casual role within the Rehabilitation Oncology (RO) department at the Cross Cancer Institute. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients affected by cancer, enhancing their quality of life through rehabilitation and supportive care services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and treat patients referred to the program, developing and implementing individual treatment programs according to best practice standards.
- Provide care in various formats, including 1:1, groups, in-person, and virtual care.
- Participate in the development of patient educational materials, rounds, and working groups, case consultation, mentorship of students and staff, triage processes, and quality improvement/research initiatives.
- Collaborate with interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports, and engage in quality improvement, partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families, and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program.
- Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
- Minimum 1 year of cancer care experience.
- Experience providing virtual care in the last 12 months.
- AADL authorizer.
- Experience providing combined decongestive therapy for lymphedema within the last year.
