Physiotherapist I

The Royal Alexandra Hospital is seeking a skilled Physiotherapist I to join our team in the acute care unit. As a Physiotherapist I, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessment, consultation, and treatment programs for patients with various conditions. You will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide effective patient care and discharge planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with experience working in an adult inpatient acute care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence
- Collaborate with patients and families to determine, implement, and evaluate appropriate rehabilitation strategies
- Participate in interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports, and engage in quality improvement
- Contribute to quality improvement and professional community through peer mentoring and supervising students
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program
- Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta
- Heart and Stroke CPR (BLS-HCP) certification
- Minimum of 1-year recent experience in an adult inpatient acute care setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the assessment and treatment of patients within the geriatric population
- Knowledge of community resources, equipment acquisition, continuum of care, and discharge planning
