About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to lead the qualification and reliability testing of our leading-edge optical and photonic telecommunication products. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional product development teams to ensure product reliability and durability exceeds customer requirements, industry standards, and market expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, plan, schedule, and oversee qualification and reliability testing on raw materials, sub-components, and finished products.
  • Work with a team of test engineers and technicians to ensure testing is completed on time.
  • Predict failure rate and availability for new products.
  • Apply engineering judgment to select appropriate tests, measurement parameters, and acceptance criteria to align with field conditions and target lifetime.
  • Analyze data and report on findings. Identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor and report on the field reliability of deployed products. Compare with predictions.
  • Perform reliability risk assessments for quality excursions. Apply physics of failure, acceleration modeling, experimentation, etc.

Requirements

  • Interest in how things work, how things fail, why things fail, and how they can be improved.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to scrutinize and interpret literature, reports, and data in order to provide meaningful recommendations.
  • Graduation from an BSc. or MSc. program in electrical engineering, optical engineering, physics, etc.

Advantageous for the Position

  • Previous work experience in a reliability, product qualification, failure analysis, test engineering, or process engineering.
  • Knowledge of electronics, optics, and optical communication equipment.
  • Knowledge of electronic and optical manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of electrical and optical components (ICs, FPGAs, Interconnects, LASERS, Optical Detectors, Switches, WSS, MEMs, LCOS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with optical and electrical measurements.
  • Knowledge of IEC, JEDEC, and Telcordia Qualification Standards.
  • ASQ CRE Certification, Six Sigma Certification.
  • Knowledge of Weibull++, BlockSim, Jump.
