The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) invites applications for the position of Senior Pediatric Pathology Division Head within the Department of Paediatric Laboratory Medicine. As a key figure in fostering excellence in paediatric pathology, you will oversee a comprehensive range of services, teaching, and research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Division of Pathology, overseeing ten pathologists, and actively participating in surgical & subspecialty pathology and autopsy services
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and well-being in paediatric pathology practice, teaching, and research
  • Develop and maintain an independent and/or collaborative research program with a successful record of grant-driven research preferred
  • Demonstrate commitment to teaching by actively participating in the education of residents, fellows, and medical students
  • Collaborate with other divisions within DPLM, clinical programs, and services to advance SickKids's mission of healthcare, teaching, and research
  • Participates in and advocates for the Division of Pathology during major planning processes for the hospital
  • Design, implement, maintain, and improve quality management systems within the Division of Pathology
Requirements:
  • Medical degree with relevant Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the Province of Ontario
  • Experience in paediatric pathology practice with a track record of excellence
  • Eligible for an academic appointment in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto
Compensation:

A competitive salary of $383,911 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience, along with benefits and opportunities for advancement.
