Job Summary

The Aerospace Specialist (Air Export and Import) is responsible for processing all shipments, coordinating movement, and monitoring while in route. This role requires handling shipments from start to finish, ensuring compliance with DSV policies and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate daily shipments
  • Establish and coordinate schedules with carriers and tender shipments to airlines
  • Create and coordinate country-specific documents
  • Adhere to domestic and international shipping regulations
  • Track and trace all shipments
  • Prepare and publish reports as requested
  • Identify and implement solutions to problems
  • Confirm rates with carriers
  • Responsible for cost containment of shipments via accounting system
  • Evaluate shipments, consolidate loads, and select the most cost-effective method of pickup and delivery
  • Ensure DSV KPIs are met throughout the movement of the shipment
  • Analyze lanes to select the most appropriate mode of transport within customer requirements
  • Communicate with customers on relevant issues and resolution
  • Manage new account implementation from standard operating procedure to execution

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years' experience in airfreight logistics
  • Education in supply chain logistics, international transportation, or a related field of study
  • Authorized Cargo Representative (ACR) designated status
  • Dangerous Goods Certification, an asset
  • Experience in Aerospace Vertical, an asset
  • CIFFA certificate, an asset

  • English and French proficiency

  • CargoWise experience, an asset

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods sitting and standing at a desk and working on a computer
  • Regular working hours apply for this position, with occasional working beyond these hours required by business needs
