Job Summary

The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Dietitian, North to play a key leadership role in primary care and health promotion for the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA). This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and collaborative individual to work with interdisciplinary teams and community members to deliver nutrition and nutrition-related programs based on identified needs and priority setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective nutrition and health promotion programs for adults and children in the NTHSSA region.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, community members, and other stakeholders to deliver programs and services.
  • Conduct needs assessments and priority setting to inform program development and implementation.
  • Provide education and counseling to clients of all ages and their families on appropriate diet, nutrition, and self-management methods.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to promote program success.
  • Stay up-to-date with current dietetic standards of practice and nutrition research to inform program development and implementation.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nutrition and completion of an accredited Dietetic Internship program.
  • One (1) year of recent experience in acute/ambulatory care, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master's degree in Nutrition may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Eligible for current registration/certification with a provincially regulated association of Registered Dietitians.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary range from $49.12 per hour to $58.68 per hour (approximately $95,784. - $114,426.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $14,661.
