Job Overview


We are currently seeking a highly skilled Specialist, Orientation & Mobility to join our team in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This full-time, contract position offers a competitive salary of $27.37 per hour.


Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct assessments and document the O&M needs and personal goals of individuals with vision loss.
  • Teach concept development, spatial and sensory awareness, pre-cane skills, cane techniques, and travel skills.
  • Provide information and lessons in the use of electronic travel aids.
  • Maintain all case data and documentation consistent with VLRC systems and procedures.

Requirements



  • Graduate of the Instructor for Blind and Visually Impaired Program (Mohawk College); or Diploma in Specialized Studies, O&M and Vision Rehabilitation (University of Montreal).
  • ACVREP Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS) certification.
  • Good command of relevant computer applications.
