We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dining Captain to join our team at Scarborough Retirement Residence. As a Dining Captain, you will play a vital role in ensuring our residents receive exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by Example: Set the standard for service excellence in our dining room, reporting directly to the Dining Services Supervisor or designate.
  • Support the Team: Assist the dining room staff, taking a section or picking up tables when necessary, to ensure seamless service.
  • Enhance the Resident Experience: Assist with before and after diner beverages in the Lobby Pub, serving special guest tables or catered events, and promoting a la carte and wine service sales.
  • Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment: Ensure the dining room, Magnolia Cafe, Fred's Bar, Private Dining Room, and family Lounge are presentable and meet health department standards.
  • Train and Develop: Assist with training new dining attendants under the direction of the Dining Services Supervisor and Executive Chef.
  • Health and Safety: Advise the supervisor immediately of staff incidents or injuries, follow health and safety policies, and maintain a clean and safe environment.
Qualifications:
  • Hospitality and Restaurant Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a dining attendant.
  • Certifications: Possess a valid Smart Serve and Safe Food Handling certificates.
  • Language Skills: Excellent command of verbal and written English language skills.
  • Teamwork and Customer Service: Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team, with proven customer service skills.
