Job Title: Welder-Fitter

Lex Metal Fabricators Ltd. is seeking a skilled Welder-Fitter to join our team. As a Welder-Fitter, you will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metal parts and products using various welding and metalworking techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret welding process specifications and operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes to ensure accurate fabrication and repair.
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
  • Fabricate and repair metal parts and products using various welding and metalworking techniques.
  • Start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production lines.
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks.
  • Handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Stand for extended periods and work under pressure.
  • Combine sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in welding and metal fabrication.
