Child and Family Service Specialist

About the Role
Rural and Northern Child and Family Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child and Family Service Worker to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a range of statutory child welfare services to families and children in our designated geographical area.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting abuse investigations and developing case plans to ensure child safety
- Coordinating support services and working with collateral community agencies
- Assisting with after-hour services to children and families
- Managing protection, voluntary family service, and child in care cases
Requirements
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Current satisfactory Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search
- Current and satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check
- Current and satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check
- Valid full stage class 5 driver's license and access to a vehicle
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, and after-hours stand-by rotation
Qualifications
- Ability to work from a strength-based social work practice
- Ability to identify signs of child abuse and neglect
- Effective interpersonal skills to develop positive working relationships
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
