Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Education
Job Summary:The University of Ottawa invites applications for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Education. This position is part of the Faculty of Education's commitment to strengthening its interdisciplinary relations with Indigenous communities and enhancing research and educational opportunities for Indigenous peoples.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct research in Indigenous education, focusing on areas such as policy studies, health profession education, counselling psychology, and social studies.
- Teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with a focus on Indigenous education and community engagement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, and knowledge keepers.
- Supervise and mentor students, including Indigenous students, in their research and academic pursuits.
- Secure external research funding and collaborate with colleagues to advance Indigenous education research.
- Ph.D. in Education or a related field.
- Excellent track record of research in Indigenous education, with a focus on community engagement and collaboration.
- Ability to teach hybrid and online courses, with a focus on Indigenous education and community engagement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with Indigenous communities and organizations.
- Passive knowledge of French, with the ability to become fluent in the language.
- Regular tenure-track academic appointment at the Faculty of Education.
